After a turbulent two months for me, I'm finally settled in a location where I can get back to doing computer things.
I have been delaying updating this instance for a while due to being without a computer and troubleshooting shell on a smartphone via ssh is painful. However I have secured colocation and VM space, I have tested function and developed an okayish backup solution during my time in Japan a few months ago.
The two instances on the chopping block are mstdn.starnix.network and pl.starnix.network.
I'm more familar with Mastodon so that's what I'll be starting on tonight. The pleroma instance is actually already updated but if memory serves there was something peculiar that I had to do to fix an update which I would not want to replicate in the reinstall so I need some time to figure that out.
This instance will go in and out of connection as I perform the update and migration. The chance of dataloss during this operation is very minimal and would only be applied to remote instances media which can be refetched anyway.
I'm caffinated, well feed and rested so hopefully I can finish this in one day.
