Here’s a timelapse video of me doodling!
You can get cheap off cuts of wood from home improvement places like B&Q and these short pine panels were fab for letting me doodle using pyrography so I could practice. They’re not ideal for a finished piece due to the cut and lack of fine grain sanding, etc., but great for building skills since it will be tricker to work with it!
With pyrography, not only is your pen tethered by the cable that powers it, disturbing the weight distribution in your hand, but you also need to pay close attention to speed, pressure, temperature, draughts, and wood grains. The type of wood makes a big difference too: pine burns quickly!
