Arthur Machen is one of my favourite horror writers, but this story leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I can't help remembering that Agincourt was part of a centuries long effort by the English to invade France, which thankfully failed after too many years. Shakespeare has a lot to answer for.
Heroic as as hell, but they weren't invited, unlike the British troops in WWI.
