The assisted dying bill safeguards require a clear idea of when someone has 6 months to live.
But, Paddy Stone (emeritus Prof. & past head, Marie Curie palliative care research Dept/UCL) notes:
'that there is no reliable way to identify patients with less than 6 or 12 months to live . . . at least, no method that would be reliable enough to act as any sort of ‘safeguard’ for the proposed assisted dying legislation'!
For supporters, this may be a problem?
