There's a balance though imo. If you don't add enough features, people who want or need them probably won't use your software.

For example, say a large group of people are mostly happy with a video editing software, but they want an option for GPU accelerated timelines. If they need or really want that feature and there's no way to get it, then they won't use that software.

The same goes for a desktop lacking features 90% or more users need or want. (1)
