Gaza, Our Beating Wound

For three years, wounds have been carved into our hearts, one after another. Not a single day has passed during these three years without our wound continuing to bleed.

We have lost so much, and with every passing day, we continue to lose even more.

It began with the loss of our homes, belongings, and everything we owned. Then came the loss of the souls we loved, and who loved us in return.

It feels as though death has sworn to take away everyone who ever loved us.

But will death also take our own souls, just as it has taken away the peace of our hearts and the comfort from our lives?

Our wound grows deeper every day, until it feels as though pain has carved itself into our hearts and left its permanent mark upon them.

No happiness.
No peace.
No loved ones.

And all that remains is the fear that we may lose our own souls as well.
