“Our struggle is dire and the consequences so serious that we sometimes focus all of our energies on thwarting fascists’ plans via more explicitly-antifascist action…
Defeating fascism would be worthless if it wasn’t replaced by the world that we want - one that celebrates nature, music, dance, and youth, as embodied by the Edelweiss Piraten of Germany in the 1930s and 1940s. We want a world of generosity, humanity, joy, and conviviality, as manifested in the pastaciutta antifascista nights every July 25th, in Italy & beyond. We want a world where people ground down by the everyday racism they encounter can go to a concert and join a huge crowd, all focused on the same thing. We want to be able to get offline once in a while and experience real-life, physical spaces for antifascists to gather, organize, connect, learn, and have a good fucking time, in order to enact lasting change. We want to celebrate and embrace the music and heritage and language of peoples who have defied colonialism and imperialism and are still here and sharing their culture with us today.”
