after quite a bit of thinking recently, i have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as an effective, long-term archaeological or geological method of dating that can be even remotely accurate

the reason why is, that just as stars have blurts of material on a fairly regular basis on relatively small scales, less often, they have really big blurts of materials

the entire edifice of carbon 14 radioactive decay dating is based on two things:

- that the accumulation of C14 from space is fairly constant over time

- that any object that has been sealed off from the surface of the planet and is no longer ingesting carbon from around it in some way will have a distinctive and measurable decrease of the remnant of radioactive Carbon 14 present within it

firstly, the decay rate is a poisson point process, like bitcoin mining... on a long timescale it does average out but even on a long time scale it can still be slower or faster than average, this is luck, and part of the reason why many modern random number generators use little fragments of americium in a blob of led with essentially a geiger counter, as a trigger for reseeding a cryptographic random number generator, usually based on the time

secondly, the existence of periodic strong releases of radioactive carbon from our own star, which happens also in a poisson point process, like in may, there was an extra big blurt of it, all of the historical solar flares and geomagnetic storms recorded in the last 160 years or so put out more than average amounts that landed on our planet, and we have not been measuring this long enough to know how long ago the last big blart was, it easily could have been 4000 years ago and related to the events recounted in Genesis as the blart also leads to other things going crazy like magnetic poles moving around, seismic activity, increased radiation hitting the planet and charging up cloud formation and lightning storms, and even the possibility of the entire crust of the earth slipping suddenly all in one direction

so, in actual fact, there is only one reliable dating method, and it entirely depends on humans recording celestial events

only stuff in outer space moves slow enough to be a somewhat reliable clock, and only recently even astronomers are starting to observe more and more examples of micronovas and large scale flares occurring on other stars that the implication is very clear - it happens here too, most likely, on such a large scale and you don't know when that is and the influence of celestial events and the electromagnetic phenomena of large celestial bodies, from our star to the whole galaxy, have got a much bigger impact on us and cause events that are extremely catastrophic, causing near total extinction of life except in few small pockets here and there where life managed to hold on while the whole world was washed away, blowed up and irradiated

so, i think in actual fact that the biblical texts are more accurate clocks for timing events, and that almost all geological time estimates are way way off, mostly exaggerated greatly beyond what they actually are, eg, there was dinosaurs on the planet 5000 years ago and they did not survive because the cold weather and tsunamis washed them all into lake pits and almost all of them were rotting away floating in the water as it drained back to the ocean

and it also implies that to some extent, most modern religions, especially the oldest ones like Taoism and Judaism, are essentially cargo cults, complete with the typical cargo cult in the judaic of the Messiah, and the Christian variant of the Socond Coming, indeed i think the Hindus have this too, in some form, as well

now, it's not to say that maybe the people who were here who knew all this who pop up all over the place in the old books, throughout the entire old testament, do not intend to return in time to effect a "harvest" - evacuation, with selective (elect) picking of the survivors to rescue

my opinion is the evidence across the biblical age texts is too consistent and points to certain timelines that put the last disaster at around 4000 years ago, while the modern and latest geological research puts that date almost 50% longer at around 6500 years, and is associated with a magnetic pole shift with evidence of igneous rock with magnetic components having radically different magnetic alignments

i don't even know how they do dating when there is no carbon involved, what bubbles up out of the earth is probably more consistent in terms of its carbon 14 ratio, but there is not a lot of carbon in that rock, either, so any pinning of that to a date is likely dependent on embedded fragments of carbon within it, and those will likely have been impacted by the level of solar flaring that happened at the time

now, maybe THAT carbon is somewhat useful for dating, since the strata of it are clearly cumulative, and the rock is sealed up from the atmosphere far better than the sedimentary rocks, but the problem is that it's gonna be hard to distinghuish between ground sourced carbon and carbon that fell into the lava, you see what i mean?
