Just to put a fine point on that issue--armyworm type cutworms are what I manually remove because I don't want to kill off the Tomato Hornworm, which turns into a nocturnal pollinator, a type of Sphinx moth. It might eat tomato leaves but it poops fertilizer, and while it eats it also stimulates tomato production.
