This is at least partially related to the search dilemma: If it's easy to find anything, it's almost impossible to be found. That's also why recommendation engines have a right size of data set in which they provide valuable recommendations that you like & otherwise would have been unlikely to find - past a certain scale, results are shaved down by statistics from "surprisingly useful" to "self-sorting pile of the most generic & unsurprising content"...
