I'm not entirely sure I understand it myself. My first use of a fountain pen was a Lamy Vista that I borrowed. So it was free except for the ink cartridges and given it's the same body as the Safari it teaches you how to use it by how the grip is designed. So my introduction to fountain pens was almost free and I'd seen them being used already by someone I knew (with really crappy handwriting); demystifying them.
