The IPPR has found 'a link between economic participation & rates of obesity; areas with high rates of obesity also have high rates of economic inactivity' - they suggest public health policy needs to move from a personal responsibility to a structural approach to deal with obesity's impact on workers & productivity.
There's a known link between obesity & poverty but to start suggesting obesity is a contributory cause of low productivity looks a bit like institutional fat-shaming?
