What we really need imo is social media that isn't reliant on the tolerance of others but the complete open acceptance of others. We shouldn't have to rely on the fediverse because it isn't for *us* - Its always possible we'll be driven away someday. We should have our own place, but that place needs to also be well made if people are going to stick around.

Its up to you what you do @ Sofia but I think you could help in building something like that someday, and it'd do a lot for the community.

But beyond that, agree with Gavin. We have to believe in ourselves and in the possibility of creating change in order for us to get there. If we accept defeat we're powerless, if we fight then we can get where we want to be. The future isn't set in stone, we're building it every moment.
