Are you saying that most people don't understand what Capitalism actually is and thus tend to blame it for things the actual idea(s) have no connection with?

I do refer to it fairly often, but almost always in the context of things where profit motive and any given set of potentially incompatible goals, ideals and principles might come into conflict.

Am I mis-using or mis-understanding the term?

Seriously looking to educate myself here, sorry if I'm unintentionally deflating an attempt at humor.
