I just hope they learn that wasting political capital like this isn't worth it. But also "just following orders" wasn't and never will be a valid excuse.
Like they had to decide that enforcing a rule, which they don't have to begin with, in this particular case is worth it.
Sure individuals might not want to risk their job and all that, I get it, but getting fired over this would be ridiculous.
Like just say there was more important things to do or something 🙃
