Much additional soldering has happened, with one near-fatal mistake, which the circuit miraculously survived. I have working USB! But for today I've hit a roadblock: the display won't display.

Worst (but most likely) option is I got the order of the 24 pins wrong. Next is, the library I'm using sends an incomplete init sequence. I may even be using SPI wrong, though this is improbable.

The investigation will continue tomorrow with more tooling.
