It was renovated 25 years ago, but the interior was still very dated and not suited to us (tatami flooring, futon closets, 180cm tall doorways), so we went for a flat-rate full renovation plan from the realtor, they strip the house down to the “bones”, and put in all new interior/exterior/kitchen/bath/WC/plumbing/wiring, dual-pane windows and full freedom to re-arrange (non-load-bearing) walls. So in the end we’ll get what appears to be a brand-new house. (3/11)
