The house was built in 1973, which is super old for a Japanese house. Typically, you do not want to live in a house from before 1981 (or to a lesser extent before 2001) since they are deathtraps in an earthquake. The difference is this house is not wooden, it’s reinforced concrete. At the time it was built, only 10% of homes in Japan were concrete, so whoever originally built it really splashed out! (2/11)
