I haven't found a decent implementation of being notified when an artist they follow releases something new. This is a real shortcoming compared to legacy platforms. (That, and new music discovery).
When an artist receives a boost it's generally a one-way transaction because the only identifier is a lnurl.
Some apps can generate a nostr note automatically when you boost, which is great promotion, by it also links the booster npub. What's missing is notifying the artist.
Tagging the artist in the note would give them the opportunity to say thanks and interact directly.
You can include npub in the RSS feed (MSP2.0 has this option) but I don't think apps are using it yet.
I'm wondering if "Nostr music" might be the ultimate solution, where development seems more rapid and flexible than podcasting2.0?

A direct connection like this might be the point of difference for listeners to move to v4v and decentralized social media... 🤷
