I found the resistance to the ideas in the book... informative. But, I also keep finding that the more I study math the more their thesis seems to be true.
Even complex numbers are "embodied" --
In a way this goes back to the debate: is mathematics invented or is it discovered? The embodied answer is "it's invented, it's intrinsically human and shaped by how we think and see the world"
This can be upsetting to those who feel that math allows them some window on the objective.
