I agree that your point is valid. But also it is caused by and/or exacerbated by
1. Wasting fiat value encourages high time frame living
2. For most people 10 years of income worth of savings would not give them even 5 years of runway
3. They have to gamble those savings in the financial markets for a mere chance at maintaining its purchasing power
