Not to split hairs, but minors can sign contracts and other legal documents, but in most cases the agreements are voidable at the minor’s discretion, before they reach the age of maturity. This is for the minor’s protection.

Once the minor achieves the age of majority (or becomes emancipated), contracts signed by them are not voidable.

If an emancipated minor signs a contract, they are treated as an adult and the contract is enforceable.
