I think it depends on what features and if/how they integrate with hosting. Like, what Buzzsprout and Captivate offer is great in terms of tiered offerings like ad free, bonus content, etc. but they don’t offer flexibility in the “pay what it’s worth to you” area other than Showrunner defined options.

I’ll admit that this is still very much tied to integrated hosting in most cases, so maybe not as useful for non-hosting users.
