I do have a nice flagstone texture roller (unfortunately from the Spanish bunch of dicks), but the area is vast in comparison so I'd never line them up. That one's off the table (unless, I guess, I cut out individual flagstones after rolling, which multiplies the pain in the ass). I've got some wall plaster I'll be giving a try first and will try ADC/PVA. Cheers!
