That is indeed crazy.
It’s increasingly clear that the experience of being human is inextricable from the experience of having a body, that even if you can separate mind from body, the result would not be the same. And technologically, we are so far away from being able to match the complexity of a human brain that to even speak of it is delusional.
Peter Thiel is not one I would turn to for theological or philosophical insight.
But there is something to the idea that evil arises from having a body that suffers from want and deprivation in addition to enjoying pleasure. Something like this idea can be found in multiple religions.
We could understand the Antichrist as leading people toward hedonism and away from spirituality. But this presumes a mind-body dichotomy which is unlikely to exist.
