Yeah, this is my starting premise. LA County alone, the trash must be visible from space. For a while US was shipping "recycling" away; now that China started refusing it, some is piling up & some is going to other countries. And I know that a good deal of clothing winds up shipped away & piling up in landfills on other continents.
