Quite bad coding if that’s the case.

You can absolutely pummel my website, because it’s all cached, flat HTML. But if you try the search function for example, I’ll run a “human check” the first time, because that hits a database (and two API points) and sustained traffic there will hurt. And you’d be surprised how many more bad actors there are out there in 2026 than there were in, say, 2021. It’s astonishingly bad out there. Probably AI-coded bullshit.

The other benefit of cached, flat HTML is that it loads damn fast. A decent CDN and a decent coding model should allow any high-traffic website to run on one tiny little server somewhere.
