That big finance is doing this suggests to me they know Trump and his administration won’t be gone in three years time. They know a situation is being created where this administration is creating a permanent structure for themselves as controllers of the USA - much like Putin in Russia, Xi in China, Kim Jong Un in Korea etc. EU and others need to be independent of this [and Starlink & AI & Palantir etc]. The UK is a weak link because of this government’s US links.
