I totally agree. I guess many politicians like spreading fear. Some decades ago was Communism, now is fear of the unknown, fear about foreigners (dog-and-cat-eating ones or not😅). So fear means the need for protection. Protection means (at list in the Marlboro-man culture) guns. Everything fits, so the roulette of the mass shootings keeps perfectly oiled and running full throttle.
