I think we implicitly understand that - the industry has been out of ideas for a while.

They keep chasing fads like crypto, the metaverse, and AI instead of provably useful technologies.

I've long suspected the entire tech industry was nothing more than a giant money laundering operation - laundering money from public interests and governments directly into the hands of private investors and the wealthy.

I think AI is the last massive cash grab before the entire things implodes.
