If Xi Jinping really wanted to compound the growing pivot away from the US in the global political economy, he has one clear strategy available to him... he could cease Chinese repression of domestic demand.
US hegemony in the second half of C20th was partly built on being the market of last resort (sucking in imports from around the world). If China took up this role instead of resisting it, then the transformation of markets (and politics) would accelerate significantly!
