Yea, I have one of those too. I fully agree with your assessment. So far, the best I've tried is the Home Assistant Voice PE. It's a solid device that's easy to setup and use. The PineVoice is built on the same ESP32 tech, so I'm guessing that things may be similar? I ordered one, so I guess I'll find out if it's a useful device or if I just blew $75 on a paper weight.
