In ten years, those of us who survived this time will look back at all this with a bewilderment undimmed by time.
We'll see then much more clearly than we do now how the world's most powerful nation failed to defend itself against the rot that had taken hold in the hearts and minds of its people, and how this administration, disastrous as it is, was simply the logical conclusion, the expected bookend to a tragedy that had been playing out for hundreds of years.
I hope we'll find closure.
