Pyrography on a wood slice that I collected locally from a dead branch, sanded and prepped.
Numismatists spend a lot of time looking through hand lenses to magnify tiny details on coins that reveal their story from the mint onwards. I was as careful as I could be to preserve important characteristics of this original coin, a Buffalo nickel (USA), but this mint (i.e. me, the artist, not an actual mint) is rather⦠ahem⦠imperfect! š I adore animals and so the bison got most of my love and attention, and the lettering⦠well⦠was ācreativeā?!
