i have an axiom about this, based on coherence. coherence is where the hierarchy of a system respects the structure of what is below it at the functional/operational level. when an abstraction pretends that the empirical substrate is irrelevant you have a system that is both retarded - missing parts that matter - and potentially - deceptive. if your model doesn't align with the phenomenon, you are deluded. this is the basis of my model of psychosis - that something lower is being inverted in the higher level. it also ends the determinism/nondeterminism question, that's how low level my axiom is - coherence is determinism. incoherence is nondeterminism. if you found your world view on top of nondeterminism it's a bomb waiting to go off. incoherence can be framed as the general category of death.
