Am I misunderstanding something? Wouldn't you just simply get a type-A connector and run the appropriate lines over? The only hard part I guess is figuring out which side it uses. (I imagine a simple multimeter could answer that though. Otherwise good old trial and error since there are only two sides gives you a 50% chance to get it right on the first try.)
