Tilton Raccoon (npub1tnp…lr0f) TrueNAS Core ran off FreeBSD and made Jails easy to setup/use, sadly iXsystems is going away from FreeBSD, Core sounds like it will get some final updates / support but the trend is moving away from them.
Netgate is announcing the same sorta thing with pfSense.
Used to be a BSD lover but it's hard w/ a license that allows companies to exploit it and then kick it to the curb when it's too hard to maintain / linux has been getting way faster/stable/secure w/way more attention on it.
