I hope you're not angry if I try to bring in a tiny bit of optimism:
Maybe it helps to consider this current point as the "V1" point in aeronautics: It's the velocity during start of an airplane where the starting process can't (safely) be stopped anymore. The plane will have to start, no matter what.
So… yes, no stopping, no return. But also: You're being forced to start now, and need to find out how to safely land again.
