Nor would I actually want to unsee it.
I would rather there not be atrocities in the world, but I will bear witness anyway, because that is the absolute least we can do for the victims & the survivors. We can refuse to let people be erased both in their past & in the present.
(Indigenous peoples still persist throughout this land & still suffer from the same colonialist violence TO THIS DAY, so let's be sure we don't make this all about the past either)
