Yeah, I would put it in some safe sheltered spot if you can pick it up. If it’s a chase to get it, don’t; you likely risk more injury than leaving it alone. Other possibilities are if it’s egg-bound (unlikely at end of October) or that it got into something toxic. In either of those cases, there isn’t much you can do… a safe sheltered spot is still a kindness.
