Caught a YouTube poll yesterday, bitcoin question, comment section pushing past a hundred and something replies deep, and I sat there scrolling realizing that’s still basically the whole room. That’s the entire audience we’re working with.
Half the comments think it’s a Ponzi scheme. Half think it’s for buying drugs off some dark corner of the internet. Others think it’s a govt psyOp. Somebody genuinely asked if you can cash it out at a bank teller window. And not one person in that thread has ever run a node or held their own keys.
Our society is still voting with total confidence on something they’ve never once touched, working off headlines written by people who’ve never touched it either.
That’s the actual trick though. It’s not some guy in a room with a memo. It’s a conspiracy of incentives, quieter than that and way more effective. The banks don’t need to lie about bitcoin. The media doesn’t need marching orders. Everybody downstream just keeps repeating what keeps them employed, and what keeps them employed is the current system staying exactly as confusing and exactly as centralized as it already is.
We’re still early, not because the tech isn’t ready, but because almost nobody’s actually in the room. Stack sats, run your own node, hold your own keys, and close the distance for one person today if you can.
GM. Verify, don’t trust.
