you are posting so that people read your content, not so that you can be another company's product.

Maybe you don't personally care if someone figures out a way to monetize *you* when you're their product, but you can't think that everyone on the fediverse feels that way.

I'm not telling you you should be concerned, but I am telling you you should be aware that being concerned is a valid viewpoint that was behind the very creation of the fediverse in the first place, and is still held by a lot of people.
