It's important to remember that not everyone lives in the U.S., or is affiliated with or closely tuned in to U.S. politics.

Sabine is a German, who studied in Germany, and as far as I can tell from the timeline of her academic career listed on Wikipedia, has lived in Germany her whole life and does so still.

We in the rest of the world all hear about U.S. politics all the time, and many of us may comment on it every once in a while. And I guess it's to be expected that a lot of her audience are Americans, since her channel is in English. But nevertheless, I don't think it's fair to hold her responsible for some indirect effect her takes might have on U.S. politics. More than anything, she is a far-away observer of U.S. politics.

I just peeked into the video you mention, and I now remember having watched it with interest back when it came out. What's important to note is that she explicitly does *not* say whether she thinks the "burning down" of academia, as you put it, is something she necessarily wants or thinks is going to be a good thing once it happens. She merely says that, in her view, it's inevitable, because academia is in big trouble, and not for illegitimate reasons.
