The concept of individuals being solely responsible for the fruit of their labour is also inaccurate, every individual enjoys a plethora of subsidy and investment into their activity in the form of the contibutions of the commons for utilty, supply chains, knowledge work etc.

"Millions of human beings have laboured to create this civilization on which we pride ourselves to-day. Other millions, scattered through the globe, labour to maintain it. Without them nothing would be left in fifty years but ruins."[1]

edit: here "enjoys[..] contributions of the commons" should be "would enjoy" assuming a socialist economy
