if they are fitted properly, yes.
They key here is "well fitting". Without that the chance goes from 1 per thousand all the way up to 4%. In just 20 minutes. Sure, thats still better
Unfortunately, most of the KN95 masks I can get don't fit nearly as well as the 3M N95s I can purchase.
One big factor is that inside the US, "KN95" had not actually been regulated while "N95" is. I have both, but the KN95 for more quick and disposable situations, N95 for conferences, etc.
