In 2005, Dr. Susan Wood resigned from the FDA to protest political delays in approving Plan B, saying she could no longer serve when scientific evidence has been overruled.

- not everyone has a doctor
- doctors may be hesitant to provide documentation

Science shouldn’t be a partisan issue.
From cancer treatments to extreme weather alerts, science makes everyone’s life better, regardless of political affiliation.
But science becomes partisan when corrupt politicians defund research, fire scientists, and censor data, harming us all.

Reminder that for occupations where it may be essential to reveal faces, solutions exist. Transparent N95s and elastomeric respirators can be used in combination with layered protections such as clean air infrastructure, testing, and vaccines. Advocacy works!
In 2017, Trump proposed 20-30% budget cuts for several science agencies.
In response, we organized the March For Science and mobilized millions of people.
The result: We stopped the budget cuts and even won some increases to research funding.

Despite measles being declared eliminated in the US in 2000, annual measles cases have reached a 33-year high — and it's only July.
This is the tragic result of the spread of anti-vax disinformation, and will only get worse in the coming years because anti-vaxxers now lead our health agencies.
