We're an animation production company. Been around since 2008, incorporated in 2010. Started remotely and set the standard since. Since our start, we've made a lot of commercials, loads of music videos, several television shows and now we're focused on making our own content.
We're a small company. A family business. We've got the no corporate overloads, so we're nimble and can make decisions which suit our values.
In 2021, we became one of the first independent animation studios to operate on a Bitcoin standard. We got paid in Bitcoin, we paid our crew in Bitcoin, and we hold our reserves in it too. As time went on, and the more we continued to learn about what the Bitcoin ethos meant to us; we continued to move our business to become more and more decentralized and work with tools which didn't exploit our (or our crew's) privacy.
Bitcoin was the first step. Nostr is the next.
"Not your keys, not your coin."
Similarly...
"Not your code, not your content."
In our industry, content is king. Using mainstream platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), Youtube, etc., means giving up your right to your content. If you're not a Cartoon Cantillionaire (Disney), it's hard to protect the things you create. Insult to injury, places such as Kickstarter, Patron and the likes, are riskiest business if you're 2 pixels to the right of Hollywood line. Few in our world understand that.
It's why we're excited for Nostr.
A decentralized platform, with decentralized money helps creatives in a very big way.
The value-for-value model is also exciting too as it narrows the gap between artist and audience.
We're not coders. We're creatives.
And, much like we lead the way with remote work and Bitcoin adoption, we hope to lead the way for many other people in our industry to Nostr.
