during the most of my involvement with ocaml, there were way too fucking many build systems (something like 12 at the peak? it was infuriating); since then basically everyone standardized on dune, which interoperates with opam. i think ocamlfind may also be involved somewhere in the middle, but that may have changed since last time i touched this stuff
