The U.S. government is acknowledging that digital assets are here to stay. Instead of ignoring them or trying to ban them, they are trying to regulate them much like how the government regulates banks, stocks, and credit cards.
If this passes, it will be much harder for people to say "crypto is unregulated," because there will finally be a massive stack of federal laws governing it.
