Bloedel Reserve part 3. Prentice Bloedel was a timber baron. He bought fifty acres on Bainbridge Island for a summer home and built this European style manor house on it. Later the estate expanded into a substantial farm and botanical gardens. The estate was bequeathed to the University of Washington and eventually became the public garden we see now. The inside of the house is partially open with some family and historic memorabilia.
